Srinagar 03 May(KNB): In a charged political accusation, Waheed ur Rehman Parra the youth President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Parliament Candidate for the Srinagar Pulwama Constituency, has leveled serious allegations against Altaf Bhukari. During a public meeting in Budgam district, Parra described Bukhari as a puppet of Delhi, claiming his political maneuvers are orchestrated by higher powers.
Parra accused Bukhari of engaging in the detention of young boys, harassment of Jamaat-e-Islami workers for votes, and supplying counterfeit agricultural products. He questioned Bukhari’s rapid accumulation of wealth and vowed that the people of Kashmir would demand accountability.
Highlighting his own plight of spending three years in jail on unproven charges, Parra contrasted this with Bukhari’s freedom despite the discovery of RDX and arms in his vehicle. He condemned Bukhari’s alleged tactics of coercion and intimidation against Jamaat Islami workers and his role in fracturing the PDP, leading to the defection of around 50 leaders.
Parra also criticized Bukhari for presenting a misleading narrative of Kashmir to European delegations and for his actions following Mehbooba Mufti’s refusal to ally with the BJP. He accused Bukhari of destabilizing the government and acting against Kashmiri interests by taking 20 MLAs to Nagpur and Delhi.
Amidst the support for the PDP across the valley, Parra expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. He urged the electorate to consider who would best represent their interests in parliament, contrasting Bukhari’s alleged betrayal with the street-fighting spirit of Mehbooba Mufti.
Parra’s speech was a call to action for voters to reflect on their choices and the future of their children, emphasizing the need for leaders who will mentor and guide rather than those who have “sold out.” He concluded by expressing his belief in a decisive mandate for the PDP in the forthcoming elections, anticipating surprising results.(KNB)
