Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNB): Another young boy responding to the appeals of crying mother returned to the fold of family leaving path of violence in the valley. I wish the family happy re- union, this was stated by Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Dr. SP Vaid.

The youth, whose identity has not been reveled due to the security reasons had reportedly joined militancy in Kashmir, has returned home today following an appeal by his mother.

Since young Kashmiri footballer Majid Irshad Khan’s return, at least ten families in Kashmir have publically through videos circulated widely on social media asked their sons to come back.

According to Kashmir News Bureau monitoring desk, at the time of Majid’s return that set the trend of returning to family fold on 17th November 2017 a senior police officer said that “in the last seven months, around 60 boys across south and north have come back”

Earlier, last year, Riyaz Naikoo, operational commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, issued an audio statement and alleged that security forces were pressuring families to make such pleas and strike at the morale of militants. Naikoo said that besides Majid Khan’s mother, “no mother wants her son back nor does anyone want to go back”. (KNB)
