Officer, 4 Jawans Injured in Fierce Encounter in Kathua

Kathua 27 March(KNB): An ongoing encounter in Kathua’s Juthana area has left an officer and four jawans injured.

According to reports reached to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that, the clash between security forces and terrorists began when the forces launched a cordon and search operation following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists. As they closed in on the suspected location, they came under heavy fire, sparking a fierce gunfight ¹.

SDPO Border DySP Dheeraj Katoch and three jawans were injured in the exchange and have been shifted to a medical facility for treatment.

Intermittent firing is still ongoing, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot. This incident comes amid a heightened security presence in the region, following reports of terrorist infiltration in the area.(KNB)
