Srinagar 16 March (KNB): After the rains left the plains wet in Kashmir with some of the upper reaches covered under the snow recently, the Meteorological department on Tuesday said that there would be no major rainfall activity till the 20th of this month.
The MeT department said they are not predicting any major rainfall in the Kashmir valley activity until 20th March. However, they also said that light rain might occur in some places in Kashmir during the next few days.
The rain and snow are likely going to fall during the 21st and 22nd of this month in J&K, which is what the MeT has predicted at present.
The MeT’s recent update said that “As of today, it looks like a 70% chance of light to moderate rain/snow is likely during 21-22nd in J&K and at Sonamarg.”
However, It further added that “no forecast of major rainfall activity till 20th.”
Pertinently, the temperature remained above freezing point across the valley on Monday night while the Ski-resort Gulmarg recorded -1.4 degrees Celsius. (KNB)
