Srinagar 07 December (KNB): Burglars have been on the prowl in the Malpora area of North Kashmir Baramulla district’s Narvaw Tehsil for the last one month, which is giving sleepless nights to the locals of the area.
Several residents of the Malpora area told the News Agency Kashmir News Bureau that the burglars have been stealing goods from the houses in the area for the last one month during night time which have not shown any let-up.
They also said that the burglars are roaming free during night time in the area and have created panic as the burglary has extended for almost a month now.
“We are now in constant fear as we don’t know when our houses will come under the hands of the burglars who appear in the area during night time and decamp with valuable things,” the locals said.
Locals further said the police should prioritize the matter and apprehend the ones behind the burglary.
On contacting the Station House Officer Sheeri regarding the burglary incidents, he ruled out it in the beginning and said that they have been of late on patrolling and did not find anything like such.
He further said that a police team has been constituted in the wake of the incident and are on it. “We are currently investigating the matter and would bring it to the notice of all if anything is found,” the SHO said. (KNB)
