Srinagar, 24 January (KNB): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC), expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Dr. Qari Abdul Latif Bhat. The revered religious scholar, Imam and Khateeb known for his dedication to the Quranic teachings, passed away after a prolonged illness at his residence in Qazi Yar Zaina Kadal.
Mirwaiz in his tribute, lauded Dr. Qari’s exceptional contributions to social, religious and academic spheres, noting the profound impact his loss would have on the fields of dawah and education. He emphasized the close familial ties between the Mirwaiz family and the bereaved, highlighting Dr. Qari’s lifelong commitment to the mission of Tabligh-e-Deen.
The condolence statement also conveyed Mirwaiz’s heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the grieving family, particularly Abdul Rauf Bhat, during this difficult time. Mirwaiz offered prayers for strength and patience for the bereaved family members.
Responding to Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir’s directives, a delegation from the Awami Action Committee participated in the funeral prayer of Dr. Abdul Latif Bhat. The poignant ceremony took place in the historic Zaina Kadal of Shahr-e-Khaas Srinagar, attracting a large gathering from diverse backgrounds.
Family sources said that a congregational Fatiha Khawani for the deceased is scheduled to take place at Ganj Bakhsh Park near his ancestral graveyard on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2:30 PM.-KNB
