Minor killed in Shopian as explosive device goes off

Srinagar, Jul 11 (KNB): A 12-year-old boy identified as Salik Khursheed was killed and three others injured after an explosive device went off in Memendar village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.
A police official said that four boys were critically injured in a blast in Memendar village today. The boys were rushed to district hospital Shopian for treatment where one of the injured, identified as Saliq Khursheed, succumbed.
The injured boys were later shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for further treatment.
Meanwhile, reports reaching Kashmir News Bureau that hundreds of people joined the funeral prayers of the minor boy and was later laid to rest amid teas and sobs at his ancestor’s graveyard.
The incident took place a day after a boy was allegedly killed in forces action at Kundalan village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Expressing concern over the killing of yet another minor, Hurriyat (M) Chairman took to the Twitter stating, “Conflict claims one more life this time of a little child with many injured! Our children are not safe even while playing!Each day Kashmiri’s pay the cost of the lingering conflict as the world looks on and there is little effort to put an end the tragedy that #Kashmir has become!”
JKLF incarcerated Chairman Yasin Malik while expressing his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the death of Salik who became a victim of some mysterious blast said on daily basis, Kashmiris are forced to shoulder the coffins of their dear. (KNB)
