Srinagar 21 December (KNB): Meteorological department on Tuesday said that they are predicting a high intensity of snow spell during 26th December evening to 28th forenoon with light snowfall likely to occur over higher reaches of J&K and Ladakh during Thursday and Friday.
The weatherman in its latest weather advisory while giving the current update of the weather in J&K and Ladakh said that due to the feeble western disturbance there would be an overcast in both UTs with chances of light snowfall over J&K and Ladakh higher reaches during 23rd and 24th December.
It was further said that high intensity of snowfall would be likely observed during 26th evening and 28th forenoon of this month with main activity of it on 27th December.
Regarding the temperature, the MeT official said that there would be a rise in mercury by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in J&K and 4 to 5 degrees C in Ladakh.
The officials further said that the cold wave has abated in both UTs and would remain so till 28th December. (KNB)
