Medical cum veterinary camp organised by Army in Rafiabad

Baramulla 10 Sep (KNB):As part of operation Sadhbhavana  Rafiabad Army, organised a medical check-up and veterinary  camp on Monday, Sept 10, 2018 to provided basic health care support to residents of Rafiabad.
The medical camp was organised at Sialkot, Rafiabad with  aim to providing quality health care to locals in higher reaches of Rafiabad region who are generally deprived of modern medical facilities.
In keeping up with the constant endeavour of the Army to connect with the  AWAM, a team of 07 Army Doctors and 19 civil medical, dental and veterinary officers participated in the camp.  A team of specialists comprising of a Gynecologist, Paediatrician, Dentist, Surgical and medical specialist provided medical care to villagers.         Immunisation to children and distribution of medicines was also carried out as part of the event.
National Medical Mobile Unit ( NMMU) which comes under Directorate of Health Services ,Kashmir was also called. It had all the latest equipments  to conduct medical tests at the site which came very handy for villagers of upper reaches.
A veterinary team also provided veterinary cover to the locals and gujjars/ bakarwals ,which was highly appreciated and received a huge response and also benefited a significant amount of people in the remote areas.
A total of 721 patients and  217 animals were treated as part of the medical camp. The locals lauded the efforts of the Rafiabad Army for genuine concern towards the AWAM and assured of all possible help and unflinching faith and bond between Army and AWAM.
Locals while talking to Kashmir News Bureau told that Indian Army has been constantly trying to bridge the gap with the people and such efforts through operation Sadhbhavana will hopefully lead to a better mutual co-operation and understanding between the Army and local people.(KNB)
