New Delhi, February 26, (KNB): The Media Federation of India (MFI) marked its 18th consecutive year of honoring excellence in media production, journalism and broadcasting with a grand award ceremony held in New Delhi.
Founded in 2006 by Arun Sharma, the MFI has been dedicated to supporting and advocating for media professionals across India. With over fifteen thousand members, the Federation orchestrates a range of activities, including award ceremonies, seminars, business summits and skill exchange workshops.
According to the statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, “this year’s Media Excellence Award Ceremony, esteemed journalists such as Rubika Liyaquat, Navika Kumar, Shrivardhan Trivedi, Neelam Mahajan Singh and Sayeed Ansari were recognized for their contributions to TV journalism. In the print media category, Navoday Times, The Daily Milap and Daily Srinagar Jang received accolades for their outstanding work.
Metrocity India was lauded as the best News Magazine of the year, while Rohitash Kumar Verma of Danik Jagran, Muzaffarnagar was honored as the best Rural Journalist. Additionally, Nikhil Wagh of Goa Shipyard Limited received the prestigious Best Rising Communicator of the year 2023 award.
The event, graced by Arun Sharma’s presidential address and Manoj Purohit’s guest of honor speech, also featured musical and cultural performances by various artist groups.
In a moment of significance, Bilal Bashir Bhat, Chief Editor of Daily Srinagar Jang and Onlykashmir [dot]in, was appointed as the President of Media Federation of India for the Kashmir Division. Bhat’s dedication to advancing the cause of media in Kashmir was acknowledged, following his recent recognition by Exchange 4 Media as the Best Urdu Journalist of the year 2023.
Furthermore, the ceremony saw the release of three notable books, including works on advertisement by Dr. Poonam Kumari, entrepreneurship by Dr. Veena Handa and Dr. Vijatha Taneja and ethics of journalism by Dr. Sachin Batra.-(KNB)
