Srinagar, Decembet 31(KNB):A female corporter, Shaheen Bhat from Kashmir capital Srinagar registered a formal complaint on Monday, against Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor for harrasing her.
Shaheen, who was elected from ward no.7 of Rajbagh in recently concluded Municipal Polls alleged that she was assualted by Mayor Junaid Azim Matoo and his PA Firdous Ahmad in office chambers.
While talking to KNB, Shaheen said,”The Mayor has been continously harrasing me several times by asking me to come along with him for enjoyement.I had submited an estimate of Rs 25 lakhs for developmental works but the mayor concealed that approval and did’nt approve this is sheer sexual harrasment”
“The Mayor and his assistant abused me in presence of other corporaters and even tored my Pheran,” she added.
When contacted ,SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Matoo he said that he was not present in his office today.
“I have heard that Shaheen Bhat has assualted one of the SMC employe and there is a CCTV footage of that incident” he further added.(KNB)
