Bandipora 16 November (KNB): At least 7 shops were gutted after massive fire broke out in Aloosa Village of Bandipora district at around 2 am in the intervening night of Monday.
“The blaze was detected at around 2 am at a local bakery store. Soon after, the fire engulfed the surrounding shops, by the time the two fire extinguishers were brought to the spot, several shops were already burning,” eyewitnesses told news agency Kashmir News Bureau (KNB).
Officials said that no casualties have been reported so far and the reason behind the fire is not known yet, adding that the fire was brought under control after an hour-long exercise.
However, locals praised fire fighters for great effort and timely action to control the blaze. (KNB)
