Mainstream politicians term the step of arrests and additional forces as “shocker”

Srinagar, Feb 23(KNB):The arrest spree and the influx of the additional troopers by the Ministry of Home affairs has revoked a widespread disapprobiation on social media. The various prominent politicians and leaders have expressed their dessent through different medians of social media.

Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, “In the past 24 hours Hurriyat leaders and workers of Jamaat Islami have been arrested.Fail to understand such an arbitrary move which will only precipitate matters in J&K.under what legal grounds are there arrests justified ?You can imprison a person not his ideas.”

While PC’s Chairman, Sajad Lone tweeted as, “Govt seems to be on an arrest spree.Just a word of caution. Large scale arrests took place in 1990.Leaders were ferried to Jodhpur and many jails across the country.Things worsened.This is a tried tested and failed model. Pleas desist from it .It won’t work. Things will worsen.”

Meanwhile, Barkha dutt tweeted as, “word from Kashmir is that all key separatists to be flown out of Srinagar and kept in custody elsewhere in country.So that none can rabble rouse on streets or gather crowds.”
