Srinagar, April 23(KNB): Voting for the first phase of the three-phased Anantnag Lok Sabha seat began in south Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
The voting process started at 7 am and will end at 4 p.m, two hours earlier than scheduled due to “security reasons.”
Authorities have made extra ordinary security arrangements to secure polling stations and ensure safe passage to voters while mobile Internet service has been suspended in entire South Kashmir.
As per the reports, very few voters came out in the morning in six polling segments of Bijbehara, Pahalgam, Shangus, Anantnag, Kokernag and Dooru.
Total voting percentage till 10 am is as: Anantnag- 1.1%, Dooru 6%,Kokernag- 6.1%, Shangua-4.8%, Bijbihara-7.8%, Phalgam-7%.(KNB)
