Lok Sabha polls: Over 25 vote percent records till 12pm

Srinagar, April 11(KNB): The overall voting for the first four hours of polling in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir stood at 24.66 per cent.

The overall voting recorded till 12 pm is as: 30.57 votes were polled in Jammu, 35.91 in Samba, 30.80 in Rajouri, 32.83 in Poonch in Jammu division.

In Kashmir division where polling is underway for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, 11.40 votes were polled in Baramulla, 19 per cent in Kupwara and 12.63 in Bandipora while the migrant vote share was 19.36 per cent.

Polling for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections started at 7 am for the Baramulla seat.

Nine candidates comprising National Conference’s (NC) Akbar Lone; Peoples Democratic Peoples’ (PDP) Abdul Qayoom Wani; Congress’s Farooq Ahmed Mir; Peoples Conference’s (PC) Raja Aijaz Ali; Er Abdul Rasheed Independent; Najeeb Naqvi as Independent; Jehangir Khan NPP; Javeed Ahmed Qureshi as Independent and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) M. M War are in fray for the Baramulla seat.(KNB)
