Locals thrash non-local man who attempted to hoist tricolour at Lal Chowk

Srinagar 14 August (KNB): Locals on Tuesday thrashed non local man who attempted to hoist tricolor on Ganta Ghar in City of Srinagar Lalchowk.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau “the non local man was beaten up by locals at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk when he was trying to unfurl Indian flag at Clock Tower and was later rescued by CRPF and police.”

Police official said “Today afternoon few persons came to Ghanta Ghar in connection with some poli tical activity, some miscreants assembled at the scene and created disturbances by criminally intimidating them.”

Last Year, Eight Shiv Sena activists were detained  after the police thwarted their bid to hoist the National Flag at Lal Chowk,

However, detained activists were taken to the Kothibagh police station where they were released after completing legal formalities.

Meanwhile, Police has registered the case under FIR No 27/18 U/S 341,506 and 323 RPC and investigation has been initiated in the instant matter. (KNB)
