Locals stage protest against CMO Kupwara for Terminating Doctor

District administration terminated me without proper inquiry Says Doctor

Kupwara, April 19(KNB): Residents of Kalroosa Kupwara protest against the termination of Medical Officer Dr.Bilal accused of denying ambulance to a pragnant lady and termed it as baseless and unacceptable.

The protestors while raising slogans in favour of Doctor and against District Administration aasembled at Primaray Health Centre(PHC) Kalroosa Kupwara and demanded revocation of termination order issued by the authorities.

Earlier, Dr.Bilal Ahmad medical officer was terminated accused of not providing ambulance to a pregnant woman whose new born died while delivering him in a moving vehicle on Saturday last week in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

While demanding the revocation of the termination order at earliest, the protestors said ” allegations against Dr.Sahab are totally baseless and unacceptable, he had provided ambulance to the patient but her family members refused and took her in their own car.The pragnant lady deliverd her 6 month infant in the moving vehicle on the way to hospital and alleged Dr.Bilal of not providing her ambulance which is totally baseless, District Administration, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara should look into the case and revocate the termination order at the earliest.”

While Talking to Kashmir News Bureau on phone, Dr.Bilal Ahmad said “The allegations against me are fake, the patient came to me as a general case not specially as pregnant lady while after examining the patient I advised and with full details refer her to Kupwara Hospital.The Family members of the patient alleged me of not providing her ambulance which is totally baseless how could I deny providing ambulance to any patient as it is already mentioned in hospital rules that ambulance is available for any patirnt for 24 hours.”

He further said, “District administration terminated me without proper inquiry it is humiliation and injustice for me, I appeal D.C Kupwara and District administration to properly investigate the matter and revocate the termination order against me.”

Despite repeated calls CMO Kupwara did’nt recieved the call for his comments.(KNB)
