Local Militant Killed in Pulwama Encounter

Pulwama 12 October (KNB): A local militant was killed on Saturday morning in a gun battle with security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.




According to reports reached to Kashmir News Burearu “Jammu and Kashmir Police, army men 5RR and CRPF personnel cordoned off the Babgund area of Pulwama and started door to door search operations around 2am.

Militants hiding in one of the residential houses fired upon the forces, triggering a gunfight, said the official, adding that one militant was killed during the exchange of fire.

The identified the slain militant as Shabir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Samboora.

Meanwhile, a police official said that curfew has been imposed in entire Pulwama town “as a precautionary measure” to prevent protests.
