Says Gupkar Declaration not People’s Alliance but Dynasty Alliance of NC and PDP
Srinagar 19 October (KNB): Commenting on the assertions made by National Conference that summoning its president was a BJP backed move in reaction to Gupkar Declaration and a pure political vendetta, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman, Altaf Thakur asked why has the ED summon created ripples in NC camp and that if Dr Farooq is clear, let him face the ED probe.
In a statement issued to KNB, Thakur said: “I wonder why such a huge hullaballoo in NC camp. If Dr Farooq is clear, he should face the ED probe, why so much of noise in NC. Linking ED summon to BJP is nothing (but) a myopic vision of NC leaders. BJP is a party of principles and doesn’t indulge in any act that goes against party’s constitution and principles”.
He said that ED is perhaps probing the cricket scam and NC should allow the agency to carry out the investigations in a transparent manner.
Thakur stated that it sounds foolish that NC has linked the Gupkar Declaration with the ED summons.
“BJP reiterates that Gupkar Declaration is a failure and there are no takers for it. As for the people’s alliance announced by Dr Farooq, it is not people’s alliance but dynasty alliance between once arch rivals—NC and PDP,” he asserted.
Further adding, “This is an alliance between Abdullahs and Mufti’s. Why didn’t people’s alliance shape before Mehbooba Mufti’s release. This was all planned. The name too was given only to stay relevant in politics as people of Kashmir have rejected both NC and PDP”. (KNB)
