Srinagar 09 June (KNB): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated a 500 bedded DRDO Covid facility at Srinagar’s Khanmoh.
The facility is housing 500 beds with an ICU facility and was inaugurated today by the LG J&K, accompanied by other senior officials. The 500 bedded Covid hospital will be another facility for the UT after the one constructed in Jammu division with the same bed capacity.
As per an official, the construction of the facility took 17 days and among the total of 500 beds, 375 are connected with high flow oxygen and other 125 are ICU beds.
However, the facility is going to be operational fully after the completion of its trial run. Lt Governor, on the occasion, also praised the DRDO effort for putting up the Covid care hospitals both in Jammu and Kashmir within a short span of period.
It is pertinent to mention that at the newly DRDO Covid hospital there is also the liquid medical oxygen tanks facility as well, as per the official.
“My deepest gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Hon’ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for providing the necessary assistance and interventions in augmenting healthcare & medical facilities across J&K,” said the Lt Governor. (KNB)
