Advisor Bhatnagar unfurls flag on R-Day at SK Stadium, Srinagar

Srinagar 26 January (KNB): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the tricolour at the Union Territory level function on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu this morning. The Lt Governor inspected the parade and took the ceremonial salute.
A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that the Republic Day parade consisted of smart contingents from Army, BSF, CRPF, SSB, IRP (Women & Male), J&K Police, JKAP, UT Disaster Response Force, J&K Fire, and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise Department, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Boys and Girls, Bharat Scouts and Guides (Girls & Boys), besides several school contingents, Brass & Pipe Bands of Army, BSF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police.
The colourful celebrations of the Republic Day filled with patriotic fervor and celebratory mood was aptly reflected by a host of impressive cultural items presented by various schools and departments on the occasion.
The J&K Police displayed the breathtaking Motorcycle Acrobatics, besides cultural pageantry based on the different themes activities were the main attractions of the programme. Scores of students from various schools presenting a cultural spectacle based on national integration and the glorious composite heritage of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir marked the day.
Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs Memorial & Balidan Stambh and paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of our country.
“Valor of the Jawans and officers of JKP, Army and other Central Security Forces and their unparalleled courage is an inspiration for all. The nation will always remain indebted to their sacrifices. We all must take a pledge to eradicate terrorism and terror ecosystem perpetuated by the neighboring country”, said the Lt Governor.
Among those who witnessed the Republic Day celebrations were Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir High Court; Advisor to the Lt Governor; Judges of the J&K High Court; Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation; Member of Parliament; Chief Secretary; DGP; elected representatives of ULBs and PRIs; former Legislators; senior Civil, Police and Army officers; political and social activists; prominent citizens, media persons and the citizenry.
Meanwhile, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar unfurled the tricolour on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar
After unfurling the flag, the Advisor inspected the parade and took the salute from the contingents of JKP, BSF, CRPF, JKAP, SSB, ITBP, IRP, Women contingent, Forest Protection Force and NCC.
In his address, Advisor Bhatnagar extended the warm greetings of 73rd Republic Day to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and remarked that we are able to live in this unique country as a democratic nation only because seven decades ago on this day, our Constitution came into effect and we embarked on our journey as a Republic Nation.
Highlighting about the significance of the constitution in his address, the Advisor said that the doctrine of our constitution has laid the foundation of modern India we are currently living in. “Our founding fathers and visionary leaders brought together a diversity of views on a single platform to forge a common national spirit by drafting and enacting this unique constitution which has been imbibed from generation to generation”, Advisor Bhatnagar said. He added that this day marks the celebration of the empowerment of Indian citizens to select their own government which shaped the identity of our country as a modern nation.
The Advisor remarked that these are historic times for Jammu and Kashmir as it is seeing a new dawn. A dawn which promises hope, a dawn which will bring prosperity, a dawn which will lead to progress and development, a dawn which will usher J&K towards peace and the best way to overcome misgivings is to reaffirm our commitment to abide by the values of our Republic.
He added that Jammu and Kashmir has always been an integral part of the ethos and culture of India in each and every respect embracing every religion and every tradition of varied cultures. And this peaceful co-existence here has reflected in the lives of the inhabitants of this beautiful land. (KNB)
