Srinagar 28 June (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees for the pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. from the Amarnath Yatra base camp in Jammu on Friday morning.
Before flagging off the first batch of devotees, LG Manoj Sinha also offered prayers at the temple. The first batch of pilgrims set off to the holy cave in a convoy of light and heavy vehicles early in the morning, amid high security arrangements.
While flagging off the batch, the LG wished all the devotees a safe and spiritually-fulfilling journey and prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness to all. He also said, “The holy pilgrimage is the ultimate bliss. It is the path of humility, compassion, and awareness.”
The 62-day-long Shri Amarnath Yatra will commence on July 1 and culminate on August 31, 2024. All the necessary arrangements, including security, have been made for the yatra by the J&K administration.(KNB)
