LeT Network Cracked in Srinagar, 5 Held Including Two Foreign Terrorists

Srinagar, Apr 7(KNB): In a major counter-terror operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police have exposed an interstate module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba in Srinagar, leading to the arrest of five suspects, including two Pakistani nationals, officials said on Tuesday.

According to KNB, the operation was launched following credible intelligence inputs and sustained electronic surveillance that pointed towards the existence of a wider militant network operating beyond Jammu and Kashmir. Acting swiftly, security agencies moved to neutralise the module and detain those involved.

Officials indicated that the crackdown is part of a broader strategy to dismantle cross-border terror infrastructure, with the investigation now stretching into other states. In coordination with central agencies, police have carried out parallel actions in Punjab to trace the network’s inter-state connections and logistical channels.

As part of the ongoing probe, search operations were conducted at multiple locations across different states. At least 19 sites, including in Haryana and Punjab, have been raided to gather evidence and identify further links in the network.

The focus of the investigation remains on uncovering local support mechanisms and establishing the full scale of the module’s activities. Officials said further disclosures are expected as the probe advances, and did not rule out more arrests in the coming days.

Sources told KNB that additional details would be made public once the investigation reaches a decisive stage.(KNB)
