Kupwara 1 February (KNB): One among the four persons, who sustained injuries in the accident at north Kashmir’s Kupwara, succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar, officials said.
Earlier, 23 year old woman died, and four people suffered injuries after the private vehicle they were travelling in lost control and fell into a Nallah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Pertinently, the vehicle (Alto) bearing registration number HR51 AU 7420 skidded off the road as the driver lost control because of slippery conditions caused by light fresh snowfall during the morning.
The vehicle fell down from the bridge into the channel (nalla) at Kralpora, officials said, adding that an Army’s Road Party and locals rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.
In the unfortunate incident five people, who were on board of the vehicle, got injured and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.
They said that one of the injured, identified as 23 years old Usma Iqbal D/o Mohd Iqbal Bhat R/o Rashipora, succumbed to her injuries and another injured identified as Mohammad Maqbool Bhat S/o Mohd Abdullah Bhat also R/o Ratnipora, succumbed at SMHS hospital Srinagar later.
Three others injured, identified as driver of the vehicle Bashir Ahmad Beigh S/o Gh Hussan Beigh, Asif Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Maqbool Bhat, Jabeena Begum w/o Farooq Ahmad Bhat all residents of Ratnipora, are said to be in a critical condition. (KNB)
