Srinagar 27 Nov(KNB): Sheikh Anusha, a 6th-grade student from Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School in Kashmir’s Handwara region, recently claimed the gold medal at the Pre-teen National Pencak Silat Championship 2023-24. Held at Patna’s Pataliputra Sports Stadium from November 23 to 26.
Anusha emerged victorious in her weight category (34 to 36 Kgs) in her debut appearance, triumphing over seasoned opponents with significant point differences. Notably, this success follows her earlier achievement of securing a Bronze medal at the inter-state level, held at Srinagar’s Indoor Sports Stadium earlier this year.
Anusha’s outstanding performance has brought honor to the Union Territory and stands as a testament to her skill and dedication in the sport.(KNB)
