Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNB): The dearth of private sector is the reason of rising unemployment in the valley. Every year thousands of students either complete their Graduation or Post Graduation or start looking for jobs which becomes a herculean task for the lack of Private jobs.
The nonavailability of private jobs with less government jobs has forced a major population of the valley to work outside which causes brain drain from the valley and a major chunk of manpower has to be then looked from other states.
An MBA graduate Haseeb who works with an MNC outside said that “After completing my graduation when I started looking for jobs there were only a few jobs in valley and they would also give salary that would not have been agreeable to look after the family. The reason that Kashmiri people are forced to work outside and not contribute something for our own society is lack of private sector and even if there is any that is equal to nothing”.
The decades of turmoil in valley have left the investors and industrialists in lurch as no one wants to invest in uncertainty as the valley remains shut for most of the times and the geographical position of valley is such that for at least six months it remains cut off from the rest of the world, therefore hampering the flow of goods.
“Most of the people here want to invest in Kashmir as the market is not so Saturated however there is no direct train services between Srinagar to Delhi for the machines and manpower to move at a cheaper rate and some of the people outside have made a such image of Kashmir that we think thrice even before visiting the valley for holidays, said Prakash a business man.
If private industries would be set up in Kashmir on large scale the problem of unemployment could be solved to a large extent besides shaping the image of Kashmir for good. (KNB)
