Srinagar, 09 February (KNB): A consortium of Kashmiri intellectuals, socio-political figures, advocates, academicians, doctors and philanthropists convened for a deliberative session themed “OVER SAW PARADOX” organized by the Neeraj Study Society. Advocate Mujeebul Rehman, the chairman of the study, spearheaded the discourse.
The session culminated in a series of resolutions aimed at fostering peace, reconciliation and inclusive development in the region.
According to a statement issued to the news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, the resolutions are as follows:
Say No to Violence: The Kashmiri civil society unequivocally denounces violence and commits to pursuing peaceful means for addressing grievances and conflicts.
Initiate Dialogue with Kashmiri Pandits: The society pledges to engage in dialogue with Kashmiri Pandits in exile, facilitating their return with dignity and honor while ensuring their safety and non-refoulment, fostering a harmonious environment.
Re-Unification of POJK with Union of India: The resolution calls for the re-unification of territories including Muzzafarabad, Gilgit, and Baltistan with the Union of India, aligning with the resolution passed by the Parliament in 1994.
Create Opportunities for All: Efforts will be made to create opportunities in both private and public sectors by inviting and encouraging investors to engage and employ graduates, postgraduates, professionals, and youths, thereby promoting inclusive growth and development.
Strengthening Democratic Institutions: The society advocates for strengthening democratic institutions and advocates for the transfer of political power from limited companies and dynasty rulers to the common populace, placing emphasis on democratic empowerment.-KNB
