Srinagar 26 May (KNB): The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has five patients of Black Fungus under treatment according to an official list appending to a tweet by Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday.
Gowda said in his tweet that additional 29,250 vials of Amphotericin-B drug, used in treatment of Mucormycosis have been allocated to all the States/UTs today.”
He further said that the allocation has been made based on the number of patients under treatment which is 11,717 across the country.
However, the official list appending to the tweet shows that 11,717 patients are under treatment, as on May 25, across India. The highest number of black fungus patients are treated in the state of Gujarat followed by Maharashtra, displays the list.
It is pertinent to mention that the black fungus has already been declared an Epidemic in J&K by the government under EDA 1897. (KNB)
