Unjustified Delay Causes Mental Trauma and Social Problems for Employees and Pensioners, Says Qayoom Wani
Srinagar, April 23 (KNB): Despite the painful wait for the release of GP Fund bills, gratuity and dues of pensioners, the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) has criticized the authorities for their irresponsible approach towards the victims.
In a statement issued KNB, JKCSF Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani said that employees are the arms and legs of state machinery and carry out every duty and assignment of the government. It is very strange and unfortunate that the government has not released their own money in terms of the GP fund. The same attitude has been kept with retirees as their pension bills stand pending with treasuries or elsewhere in their respective departments.
Wani expressed concern over this kind of approach of the government with employees and pensioners and demanded the streamlining of the system wherein employees as well as pensioners get their dues released well in time.
JKCSF has appealed to the Chief Secretary J&K, Atal Daloo to address this issue on priority to safeguard families of employees and age-old pensioners the way he resolved the grace issue of SRO 43, which was pending for years.
Abdul Qayoom Wani, the chairman of JKCSF, emphasized the mental trauma and social problems caused due to unjustified delays.
He added, “Employees and pensioners have been waiting for their rightful dues for too long. It is time for the authorities to act responsibly and release the pending GPF, gratuity, leave salary and pension bills.”-KNB
