Baramulla, 29 February (KNB): A high-level delegation from the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Association Baramulla, led by Provincial President Ishfaq Ahmad Shah and District President Altaf Hussain Bhat, extended a warm welcome to Menga Sherpa (IAS), the newly appointed District Development Commissioner of Baramulla.
In a handout issued to KNB, stated that during meeting, Mushtaq Bhat the District Vice President of the Teachers Association Baramulla, provided a brief overview of the organization’s role in representing the teaching community. He highlighted the association’s efforts in addressing educational issues and combating social challenges.
Avtar Krishan Bhat, on behalf of the teachers association of District Baramulla, pledged full support to the new administration.
Provincial President Ishfaq Ahmad Shah commended the LG Administration for appointing an experienced officer like Menga Sherpa as the Deputy Commissioner of the prestigious district. He expressed confidence in Sherpa’s capabilities and administrative skills.
Mr. Shah presented a comprehensive 12-point memorandum outlining various issues and concerns faced by the teaching community. The memorandum includes proposals for the establishment of an independent education commission, transparency in teacher transfers, adequate funding for school infrastructure and equal opportunities for professional development.
Expressing optimism about the district’s future under Sherpa’s leadership, Mr. Shah assured full cooperation from the teachers’ association.
In response, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Menga Sherpa, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and assured the delegation that their concerns would be thoroughly examined for the welfare of the education landscape in the district.
The delegation comprised prominent members such as Rafeeq Ah Lone, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Sajad Ahmad Bhat, Munaver Hussain, Mtr Asiya Iqbal, Mohmad Maqbool Khan, Ashwani Bamu, Shabir Ah Lone, Tasleem Akram, Suhail Ahmad Dar, Ab Rashid Dar, Gh Mustafa Malik, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Lone and others.-(KNB)
