Srinagar 03 November (KNB): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday renamed the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) as Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA).
An order copy lying with KNB reads that in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of Jammu and Kashmir Development Act 1970 (XIX of 1970), the government hereby re-names Lakes and Waterways Development Authority constituted vide notification SRO 109 of 1997 dated 27-03-1997 as Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation Management Authority (LCMA) for all purposes of the said Act.
The renaming of the LAWDA to LCMA came by the order of Lieutenant Governor, J&K, Manoj Sinha, as per the order copy. (KNB)
