Kupwara 07 August(KNB): Indian Army organises cycle for fun in Macchal on Sunday.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, A total 15 villagers from villages near LC in Machhal Sector participated in the Cycle for Fun event as part of the two day Jashn-e- Kupwara event being organised by Vajra Division. Jashn-e- Kupwara event is being org to promote Sports and Tourism in the Kupwara Sector. The villagers of Chaki, TSunt, Ringpayen , Ringbala were elated on being offered a once in a life time adventure opportunity.
The Indian Army facilitated the villagers with adventure equipment and gear to enable them to embark on this cycling adventure. The cyclist started their adventure from Chaki village in the early hours of this Sunday morning. Their cycling adventure passed through the Machhal valley and climbed up the historically famous and scenic Zamindara Khan Gali and then descended into to the valley floor of Kupwara. The cycling adventure terminated at the Government Boys’ Higher Secondry School, Kupwara.
The event culminated with a closing ceremony with the Army’s pomp and elan. The participants were also felicitated with certificates and medals.
The tough and challenging cycling experience rekindled the spirit of adventure amongst the participants and widened the horizons of exploration and tourism for the participants as well as the onlookers. The locals were excited and appreciated the Indian Army’s effort and are hopeful that many more such events are organised in future.(KNB)
