Srinagar 12 December (KNB): The Jammu-Srinagar NH44, the only road link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world, has been reopened for one way traffic.
The Highway remained closed for several hours due to snowfall and shooting stones but was made functional after clearance of the read.
“One-way traffic has been released from Srinagar towards Jammu after clearance of snow and debris from the highway,” traffic department officials said.
Officials added that due to accumulation of snow the Srinagar-Leh highway and Mughal road, connecting Shopian with Poonch district, continue to remain closed.
Pertinently, plains in Kashmir, specially Srinagar received around 2 inches of Snowfall while the higher reaches witnessed moderate to heavy snowfall during the last 15 hours. (KNB)
