Srinagar, Feb 16 (KNB): After four days the strategic Jammu-Srinagar national highway was restored for one-way traffic on Friday.
Officials said Kashmir News Bureau that, “Traffic will move from Jammu to Srinagar. No vehicle will be allowed in the opposite direction.”
The highway had remained closed due to multiple landslides in Udhampur and Ramban districts stranding thousands of passengers on both sides. Prices of essential commodities had considerably shot up due to prolonged road closure . The airfare too had spiked a lot causing great distress to the passengers.
However, Over 2,000 vehicles were stuck at various places on the highway during this period. (KNB)
