J&K Sports Council Congrates Ishfaq, Ab Salah
Srinagar 11 Sep(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council is beaming with pride as it extends heartfelt congratulations to Ishfaq Ahmad, Head Coach of the U16 football team, and the young talent Ab Salah hailing from Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNB, J&K Sports council official said that these gifted athletes, both products of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) Football Academy, have made the state proud with their outstanding achievements.
The remarkable journey began when the All India Football Federation (AIFF) made a historic move by granting the first national camp to Jammu and Kashmir.
In a thrilling display of talent and teamwork, the Indian National Football Team secured victory in the SAFF U16 Championship 2023, held in the picturesque city of Thimphu, Bhutan. The tournament, which spanned from September 2nd to September 10th, witnessed India’s remarkable journey to clinch the coveted title.
The road to the championship was marked by an unbroken streak of exceptional performances. Team India showcased their prowess on the field by defeating their opponents with unmatched finesse. Their journey to the finals saw them triumph over Maldives with a commanding 8-0 victory, followed by a 2-0 win against Bangladesh. Nepal also fell to India’s might with a close 1-0 scoreline.
The final showdown was a nail-biting encounter against Bangladesh once again, and Team India emerged victorious, clinching the championship title.
The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council played a crucial role in ensuring that the training camp operated flawlessly, providing all necessary facilities and support.(KNB)
