India Reports 25,072 Covid Cases, 389 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

Srinagar 23 August (KNB): India reported 25,072 new novel coronavirus cases, which is the lowest in 160 days and 389 fatalities due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, India’s active caseload stands at 3,33,924, which is the lowest in 155 days and the active cases account for 1.03 per cent of the total cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.

The ministry said that there have been 44,157 recoveries in the last 24 hours which has taken the total recoveries across the nation to 3,16,80,626 and the recovery rate has increased to 97.63 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.

As per the MoHFW, India’s daily positivity rate stands at 1.94 per cent, which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 28 days and the weekly positivity rate stands at 1.91 per cent,  which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 59 days.

Moreover, the Health Ministry informed that 58.25 Crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive as well as a total of 50.75 crore tests have been conducted so far in the country. (KNB)
