Srinagar 26 June (KNB): On the eve of International Day against Drug abuse eminent social activist Inam Un Nabi has expressed deep concern over the increasing number of youth in Kashmir taking up drugs, which is destroying their lives and shattering scores of families.
He urged health authorities to update and upgrade the drug rehabilitation centers with a wide range of facilities as all of them are very poor in facility terms thus hitting hard the drug de-addiction efforts of Kashmir.
Inam Un Nabi also stressed the need to break the demand chain. “When once there is no demand for the drugs, the supply chain and evil nexus of drug dealers would end,” said Nabi.
He further lauded the role played by the police in Jammu and Kashmir to crack whip on narcotics nexus .
He also appealed to society and its heads to show more concern and efforts in ending the menace of drug abuse in Kashmir. (KNB)
