Parents alleged teacher’s poor performance

Anantnag jan 17 (KNB): Parents of students from Panzgam village of Kokernag area of Anantnag district on Wednesday morning assembled inside the CEO office Anantnag and complaint against the school authorities against the poor result of 10th class examination.
The parents of the students told to KNB kashmir news bureau that only one student passed out of 14 students in class 10th examination which was declared on last week of Wednesday.
The parents alleged teacher’s poor performance and raised the anti-government slogans over the poor annual performance of the students.
The government High school Panzgam kokernag is about 30 km’s away from Anantnag District is functioning without permanent principal, the additional charges given to teacher. After seen the result of our wards we demands from government to change the staff or dismantle the school building. Parents added.
A total number of 250 students are enrolled in the high school besides eight teachers including seven Ret’s.
Talking to KNB a parent namely Nisar Ahmad Wani said that only a single student qualified the exam among 14 students, the teachers are not showing any concern over the poor performance of the students. They don’t do justice with their job of teaching students. We lack proper teaching staff in school. The school has shown poor performance but the authorities in the department don’t pay any heed to it. Nisar added.
However the parents threatened to administration to lock or dismantle the school building if, no action is initiated against the staff. The parents appealed to higher ups in the education department to take serious note of the poorly performing schools and take necessary actions to overcome.
