Srinagar, 10 January (KNB):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar Birdi-IPS, undertook a thorough inspection during his recent visit to the Police district Awantipora on Wednesday January 10.The inspection encompassed key establishments like Police Station Tral and Police Post Aripal, where the IGP engaged in a comprehensive interaction with the Police personnel. Noteworthy attendees included DIG SKR Anantnag, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Awantipora, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar and other senior officers from the Police District.
The scrutiny delved into critical elements such as crime data, jurisdictional statistics, ongoing initiative effectiveness and areas requiring improvement. It also assessed the operational aspects of the Woman Help Desk, Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems, reporting mechanisms and accommodations for Police personnel.
IGP Birdi actively sought insights into the experiences and challenges faced by the Police personnel, expressing sincere appreciation for their unwavering dedication and hard work. He underscored the need for continual efforts to enhance community safety.
Highlighting the paramount importance of fostering a conducive and secure environment for those committed to public safety, IGP Birdi stressed the adoption of comprehensive countermeasures to address terror-related incidents.
He urged officers to bolster communication within their ranks and fortify security grids in their respective areas, with the strategic goal of enhancing the safety and security of the local populace.
In response to the prevailing threat, he called for heightened vigilance against suspicious elements providing support to militant activities. Emphasizing the necessity of keeping such elements under constant scrutiny, the IGP advocated for stringent action against individuals involved in anti-peace activities.
During the visit, IGP Birdi urged officials for more effective management of Police Station records, underscoring the significance of organized and accessible documentation in line with established rules for efficient policing.
