Srinagar 22 September (KNB): Advisor to Lieutenant Governor J&K, Farooq Khan, on Wednesday said that the identification process and action to be taken against those behind the appointing of Helpers to Supervisors in the ICDS department is confidentially going on.
It was said by Khan on the sidelines of the District Level Inter Zonal Competition’s concluding ceremony organized by Youth Services and Sports, J&K at Amar Singh College, Srinagar.
As more than 900 Helpers to Supervisors workers were disengaged by government of late, Khan said that the workers were picked up from here and there, and were appointed without any government order for the same.
He said that efforts were on from one year to fix the issue but could not be done. “In a new scheme, we are carving out posts for the helpers and those qualified among them (recently disengaged workers) would be giving extra marks in the interview. Among the disengaged workers, a number of them would be reinstated. Therefore, rather than taking part in agitation they should trust in us,” said Advisor Farooq Khan.
He further said that the government is not willing to see anyone here to remain unemployed.
Replying to questions of reporters, Khan said that those should be questioned who have deceitfully appointed them in the name of a government job. He said that the Helpers to Supervisors’ current plight is the outcome of the mistakes committed before 5th August 2019.
“Current peace in the valley was not seen in the last 31 years and the forces deployed here are for ensuring the peace,” said Khan in reply to a question. (KNB)
