Srinagar 28 October (KNB): A ‘hybrid’ militant was killed by security forces on Thursday morning after he fired upon the ADP, Army and Police in North Kashmir Baramulla’s Cherdari area, said police.
The police said that after opening fire by the militant, he was retaliated by security forces and in the exchange of fire the attacker was killed.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar after the attack said that the slain militant was a hybrid type and has been identified as Javid Ahmad Wani, a resident of south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
He further said that the slain militant had assisted Gulzar, another militant, in the killing of two non-local labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh. As per IGP, Wani was on the mission of killing a shopkeeper in Baramulla.
However, after the killing of the militant, police said that 01 pistol, 01 loaded magazine & 01 Pak grenade was recovered from his possession. (KNB)
