Hurriyat, PDP Meet: Unaware he was PDP man: Mirwaiz, Had conveyed him earlier: Yatoo

Srinagar, April 23 (KNB): The meeting between Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and ruling party PDP General Secretary Nazir Ahmad Yatoo at former’s residence Nigeen outskirts Srinagar has trigged a controversy.
As per the monitoring desk the social media in Kashmir flooded with the news regarding ‘secret meeting between PDP leader and Mirwaiz,’ however Mirwaiz was quick to rebut saying that “I was unaware the visiting person was from the PDP.”
While on other hand Yatoo talking to this writer stated that “I had earlier booked an appointment with Mirwaiz after letting him know my position and designation in PDP.”
Mirwaiz in a rebuttal statement alleged that Yatoo had brought some members of media along with him to which Yatoo said that it was leaked in media by the local CID after he informed the Nigeen police station about his visit in the jurisdiction.
“Yatoo had called Mirwaiz Sahib a few day back seeking to meet him in connection with his brothers enforced disappearance and in connection with reopening of the Asiya Neelifar case.Mirwaiz was surprised to learn that he was a PDP member and had brought some members of media along with him. Mirwaiz reprimanded him for lying to him and politely asked him to leave,” said a Hurriyat (M) spokesman here in a statement.
“I had gone to meet him as a common man not in the capacity of PDP member,” Yatoo said and added that I seek appointment to met Mirwaiz but not the Hurriyat (M) Chairman.
“During my college days at REC a walking distance away from Mirwaiz’s residence I used to go Mirwaiz Manzil,” Yatoo maintained. (KNB)
