Srinagar 04 January (KNB): The families of the three slain youths, who were killed in an HMT encounter, staged a protest at the Press Enclave demanding their boys’ bodies and fair investigation in the incident.
During the chilling cold with snow making one hard to walk on the roads, the families of the three slain youth, killed in the recent encounter in Srinagar’s HMT protested at Press Enclave and raised slogans to get the bodies of their sons back. They also stressed that fair investigation should be carried in the Hokersar encounter.
The trio killed in the encounter on 31 December, were Ajaz Maqbool Ganai, Zubair Ahmad Lone and Athar Mushtaq Wani, claimed by their families, were innocent and had nothing to do with militancy.
“Everything has been snatched from me, there’s nothing left for me now. Kill me in an encounter as well so that I can be buried along with my son,” said the 16-year-old slain’s father.
Pertinently, the GOC Kilo Force, H S Sahi had earlier confirmed the three killed in an encounter, as militants, but the families of the slain have been rejecting this version from the beginning. (KNB)
