Hundreds attend funeral procession of Local militant
Pulwama 13 October (KNB): A local Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed in a gunfight with security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday while one of militant injured was admitted in SMHS hospital.
According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau “On a Specific information Army 5RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Babgund area of the south Kashmir district during the night.”
They said “the search operation turned into an encounter after the militant fired upon the forces who retaliated.
The slain Militant has been identified as Sabir Ahmad Dar who belonged to HM outfit.
According to officials, the third militant, believed to be army soldier-turned-militant Zahoor Ahmad Thoker reportedly managed to escape. Some arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site
He said that Showkat was admitted by some unknown persons who wrote his name as Bashir Ahmad in the hospital registry.
Earlier, PhD scholar-turned-militant Mannan Wani and his associate were killed in a pre-dawn encounter in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Thursday.(KNB)
