Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in J&K from 4 July: MeT

Srinagar, July 3(KNB):: The Meteorological Department (MET) has issued a weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting intermittent rain and thunderstorms from July 4 to 10.

According to the advisory, July 4 will see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at many places in Jammu Division, with isolated heavy rain expected. On July 5 and 6, moderate rainfall is likely at most places in J&K, with heavy showers expected at few places.

July 7 will see another spell of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, while July 8 to 10 will experience hot and humid weather, with a possibility of rain and thunderstorms at scattered places in Jammu Division and a few places in Kashmir Division.

The MET has also warned of flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable places during July 4 to 6, and temporary water logging in low-lying areas. Moderate thunderstorms and lightning are also expected at few places.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecast.(KNB)
