Handwara encounter: No confirmation of militant killing says Police

Kupwara 19 July (KNB): An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Batpora Handwara town of North’s Kashmir Kupwara district on Thursday.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, acting on a specific information about the presence of militants Jammu and Kashmir Police along with army and CRRF cordon of the Batpora village which later triggered into encounter.

However, sources said, one militant has been killed but when KNB contacted SSP Handwara Ghulam Jeelani he said “There is no confirmation about the killing of a militant,”

Earlier, Militants attacked Police Party in Sopore town of Baramulla district ahead of Farooq Abdullah visit to Kupwara to express solidarity with Mir Saifullah on the demise of his brother, Late Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir (KNB)
