Rajouri, Sep 29 (KNB): A fierce gun battle broke out in Thanamandi, Rajouri district, late yesterday evening, marking the second encounter in Jammu region within 36 hours.
According to reports reaching to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that, Security forces launched a search operation after receiving intel about presence of militants in the area ofThanamandi.
According to officials, the search operation is ongoing, with further details awaited. This incident follows a previous encounter in Kog, Bilawar, Kathua, where a police officer was killed, two injured, and one militant was killed.
The Jammu and Kashmir region has seen increased military activity recently, with multiple encounters reported in the past few weeks.(KNB)
