Srinagar, Dec 02(KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir administration has officially rebranded Raj Bhavan as “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir”, acting on fresh directions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and approved by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.
The decision was formalised through a government notification issued in line with MHA Communication Memo No. 7/10/2025 dated 25 November 2025. As per the order, the existing title “Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir” has been replaced, and all official references will henceforth use the new nomenclature “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.”
Authorities confirmed that the renaming takes immediate effect. All government departments, official documents, correspondence, and public records are now required to adopt the updated name without delay.
Officials said the move was undertaken strictly in pursuance of the MHA directive and approved by the Lieutenant Governor’s office. Additional procedural instructions regarding the transition and its implementation across administrative platforms are expected to be issued soon.(KNB)
