Srinagar 24 November (KNB): Government of J&K on Tuesday directed all Public offices/ Autonomous Bodies/ PSUs of UT to hold preamble reading ceremonies on 26th November.
An order copy lying with KNB reads that “The Constitution Day, also known as “Samvidhan Divas”, is celebrated every year on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. The sanctity of the auspicious occasion necessitates the rightful duty of the citizens to celebrate the august occasion.”
It further reads, “Accordingly, for the celebrations and sensitizing citizens in respect of ideals enshrined in the Constitution, Preamble reading ceremonies shall be held across the country on 26 November, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. which shall be presided over by the Hon’ble President of India. It has also been decided that similar Preamble reading ceremonies shall be held across the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in all Government offices/Autonomous Bodies/PSUs.”
“The Preamble reading out activity shall be held along-with the live telecast of the recital of the same by the Hon’ble President of India on 26th November, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The copy of the Preamble is also enclosed for reference,” it added.
Therefore, Divisional Commissioners/Heads of the Departments/Deputy Commissioners and Managing Directors of all PSUs/Corporations are directed to organize Preamble reading ceremonies on similar lines, on the scheduled time in their respective offices/locations/adhering to all SoPs in view of COVID-19 Pandemic, the order reads.
