Jammu, Jan 10 (KNB): In a bid to win back the trust of the people in Kashmir especially in south Kashmir the J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today informed the state assembly that Government is setting up a ‘Gas Agency’ for Pellet hit victim Insha Mushtaq who became the face of pellet horror during the 2016 uprising. Mehbooba said how long can Insha be dependent on her parents? The development came a day after Insha cleared 10th Class Board exams.
Earlier, ordering the withdrawal of FIRs against first time stone-pelters, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on sanctioned jobs for several youth who lost their eyesight due to pellets and a gas agency for Insha Mushtaq Lone. Pertinent to mention here, Mushtaq Lone the father of Insha was appointed as a driver by the government soon after Insha was blinded by the pellets.
During the July 2016 uprising in Kashmir, young Insha Mushtaq lost her eyesight after a barrage of pellets hit her while she was watching the protests from her window in Sedow village of Shopian South Kashmir. Her injuries had led many to outrage against the use of pellet guns by the security forces, leaving Insha on the headlines for a while.
On Tuesday Insha cleared the Class 10 board examinations in Jammu and Kashmir, and now hopes to study further. Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others joined the thousands of netizens in Kashmir to congratulate Insha for her success.
Meanwhile, Senior Hurriyat leader Zafar Akbar Bhat on Wednesday visited Sedhaw Shopian and congratulated Insha Mushtaq for her success in Matriculation examination.
“As stars shine in night and eliminate the darkness, similarly Insha Mushtaq with her courage proved that she too can defeat the evil forces of darkness and she proved that she can achieve her goal, thus proved visionary, despite loss of her eyesight and facing all odds,” Zaffer added on the occasion.
